I've adjusted valves before on my quadsport...it took a while cuz the sidecase had to come off......i don't think you have to do that on the ex.

The quadsport has an overhead cam too. I meant the sidecase has to come off so you can see the flywheel to put the piston on top dead center. Theres a screw you take out on the ex.

I was going to get a 330 kit but from what ive heard its not worth it ! if i go for a day of trail riding I would need to adjust the valves 3 times, **** that is there any other kit or something i can do to have a 330 without the constant maintenence ? When i go riding i go for a weekend and ride 4 about 12+ hours thats 6 valve adjustments and oil changes ! i cant afford that ! are you sure you have to do it this offten ?

....You do not have to check the valves every two hours. If you do,,then something else is wrong. If you have a bunch of spare time and enjoy the work...then by all means...check them valves. But no...not manditory. If they are out of adjustment after only two hours ride time....then you never tightened or adjusted them right in the first place.
It was mentioned that it is easy...yes..you are right, and I'm not trying to start an argument. You should be able to get well over a thousand miles before it is time for a valve check. (On a new motor, I would check the valves after a few hours.)

Nothing is wrong with my 330. I have +2mm intake and exhaust valves installed along with hardened rocker arms and valve guides. Racing the motor at max rpms with these larger components loosens up the valvetrain rather quickly. A properly built 330cc engine is capable of more than double the stock horsepower. There is also a totaly different power curve that works with the "stock" designed valvetrain. Higher revs, faster revs, more power, more heat, more vibraton, etc, etc, etc. The larger components require adjustment more often. True, not every 330 kit needs larger valves installed. But I wouldn't install a big bore kit or aggressive aftermarket cam without hardened rockers and valve guides. I know, I tore up my first engine because I didn't do it. I learned the hard way. Stock 4-strokes can run forever and never need valve adjustments(rarely). Built motors do.
