I would like to know which of these would be best for me I have rode the EX and it a wheelie machine never rode the Warrior. I will be doing some jumping, Alot of hillclimbing, And just trail riding which of these would be the best for that. What's the top speed of the warrior.

My friend has a Warrior and it is a good all around Machine in my opinion, but the 400ex is deffinatly better. Probably the only advantage the Warrior has over the ex is reverse. To me, reverse means quite a bit, but some people don't even consider it at all. I could deffinatly live without it, but it is nice. I don't know much about the EX's as far as reliability goes, but I have heard that they are decent. As is the Warrior. If I had the choice between the two, I would pick the EX regardless of my riding areas. The top speed of the Warrior is right around 60 +/- (on pavement). Good luck in whatever you choose.

I think the reliability on the 400EX is good. I haven't had any major problems, but that's just me. It all depends on how hard you ride, and what you are willing to put you and your machine trough, that can change everything. Oh, I have a 99.

I have a 400ex and love it. I have ridden the Warrior and actually didn't like it very much. It was to upright and I felt a little tipsy. The 400ex has so much more power. Another thing to thing about is the 400ex is always compaired to the raptors, and DS-650. You NEVER see the warior in the shoot-outs. (that should tell you alot right there as to which bike is better)

Go with the 400ex. You won't regret it.

the only thing better about the warrior is the price, its lower. 400EX has more power better handleing its honda it does what the warrior does better. I'm not being biased either. It's not like i hate yamaha. I was gunna buy and 01 Blaster and mod it out.

As far as I can tell, comparing a Warrior to a 400EX is like comparing regular pumpkins to genetically altered pumpkins. The Warrior is more of a trail machine, its a bit more cramped (I'm almost 6' and the Warrior is pretty small for me), its got a less power, the sidewalls on the tires are larger, which means more unpredictable slides. However, having the extra gear is always a good thing, and reverse comes in very handy (although its not like two people can't pick up and throw around sport quads this light anyway) when you don't feel like getting off and moving the thing by hand.
The 400EX is more of a race-bred machine. More roomy, bigger engine, wider axle, smaller sidewalls on the tires, but its only got 5 speeds, and no reverse.

Its up to you, but if I had the money, I'd go for the EX.

My budie has a warior and i have a 400ex. Ther is not a lot of comparison. The ex has by far better suspention and handaling. He had to turn his back tires around to make it a little more stabile. The 400ex has 10 more rear wheel horse power (27 vs 17). And as far as not having reverse, unles you are one of the laziest people on earth, the few times you trulie need it you can just hop off and pull it back.

I had a Warrior before I got my 400EX, and I can honestly say I LOVE my Honda. My Warrior was great for a first bike, and for the trail riding we did all the time, but my Honda is incredible. I don't care that it doesn't have reverse. I am strong enough that I can pick up it's rear end and move it around if I need to, but usually I try to make sure I park the right way, or pull off the trial in a way that I won't have to do that.

If you like to stand when you ride, then the Honda would be a better choice. It's got a hard seat, but I don't sit much, so that doesn't bother me, and standing for me is very comfortable (I'm 5'10&quoton the Honda. On the Warrior it was ackward trying to go from sitting to standing all the time - something about the curve of the handle bars and footpeg placement. But the Warrior has a really comfy seat! So if you prefer sitting when you ride, that might be better.

The Warrior feels heavier than the 400EX (I am pretty sure it is heavier by 20lbs or so), and was a little more tiring to ride aggressively. I'm 130lbs and I can move my 400 in the air alot easier than I could that Warrior. It's like it's got wings!

The Warrior can jump, and is a solid jumper, but the 400 jumps much better, and lands better! The 400 is race-bred - the Warrior is a trail machine. The tires on the Warrior are balloony, but you can always get new tires and change that. You can also put a pipe on it for a few extra horsepower. It can also wheelie. I learned how to wheelie on my Warrior. It's just not as easy to get the front end up as it is on the Honda. But that's a good thing on steep hillclimbs!

Good luck - for trail riding it's a tough choice. But if you have any asperations of getting on a track, go with the 400!

first off a warrior has more than 17hp!!! more like 25hp while the 400ex has about 30hp. as far as top speeds go, the warrior goes 65mph(i know this for a fact) and the 400EX hits about 75mph. dont listen to anything magazines say, they say what ever the companies want them to say as long as they give them the money! and they lie about top-speeds also, they say a Warrior goes only 56mph, while i clocked my friends cousin down the road on his Warrior and he hit 65mph!! thats a 9mph diffrence!!! And did you notice that everybody that replied to your topic is a 400ex owner?
