Hey everyone, I was wondering if I am to big for the Honda Recon? I am about 5'10" tall and weight about 147 pounds. I was wanting a 400ex but I can't afford it right now only being 16 years old and working a part time job. What should I expect to pay for a knew Honda Recon? The MSRP is $3,499. Thanks Matt

Thanks for replies guys. Do any of you happen to know how good the FMF Megamax 2 works on your RECON? Where does it gain power and how Noisy is it? Thanks Matt

If it's not much more money, get a rancher. not much faster top speed, but it don't slow down on hills as much. It is also bigger. I got cramped on my recon when I had it for long trail rides.

You should fit alright on it. I'm 6'2" and 240lbs and the Recon is just a bit small for me, but I still ride it all the time. But if your target is a 400ex, why don't you consider a 250ex -- much more of a sport machine.

The MegaMax II and a K&N really perked up our Recon! I would highly recommend these mods. Power gain is easily >10%. I went with 6 disks. Noise level is of course more than stock, but I would say it is the quietest piped bike I have heard.

i think you should get the recon... I am 16 yrs old too and weigh 150...i ride with blasters alot in sand pits. i kick their asses when it comes to handling and all around performance. I saved about 800$ buying mine in canada.

HAHAH! Recon1Man is one of my good friends, we ride together all the time. Of course, his recon does NOT outperform my Blaster in any catagories, except maybe for reliablilty and Mudding. But as for handling. I dont think so, and he's not that big either, and he's only 15. He's a chronic liar, dont blame him. But, the recon is a good quad, maybe look into something used though, you may be able to find like a used 300EX or 400EX for a bit over 3 Grand. Just a suggestion. Oh and Recon1Man, LMAO, keep dreamin, I still pass your *** in 4th gear. hahahaha
