There are the classics: 250R, Quadzilla, 300 Fourtrax, Banshee... But I'm with Bermbanger-technology is racing ahead, and the best quad is the next quad. Or the one after... How about a sport machine like a Cannondale, with switchable rear subframe from swingarm to fully independent, shaft drive on the indep and chain on the swingarm. A switchable transmission from auto to manual with clutch. A front drivetrain cassette (removable) to provide 4wd or not. Hubs, suspension and brakes set up for everything from racing rubber to muddin' meats. Removable racks, of course, and a saddle convertible from a stiff sporty one to a huge, plush utility throne. Onboard GPS and Onsat. A 55 lb. powerplant that makes 65 HP bone stock. Oh yeah, it would have to be a serious babe magnet. Now that I'm on record with this, I should get some decent royalties when someone starts offering these features. Yeah, right.

Seriously...the best ATV ever is the one right under me...actually, the quad is pretty lame, but the rider makes it awesome....[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

The best? I don't know...the myth? Probably the banshee...hell!! Ask anyone who knows a little about quads, tlk about banshee, they know you're talking power. The quadzilla is probably better, but not as famous.

Like scosho said...the next quad is the best. For now, I love the Cannondale.

 

I don't like to say this but I have to say this, atleast for sport atvs. The Banshee. Nothing has been so popular for so long, the fastest for so long, so good for so long. Other quads may have been better...but the best every was the banshee. 2 cylinders. 2 stroke. 2 pipes. It's just amazing that it has lasted for so long and remains so popular.

For the utilities, it's harder because there have been so many. But the Honda TRX300 4x4. Just like the banshee I have to look at durability and popularity over a long period of time. The TRX 300 4x4 meets this and has always been great. It is what HONDA WAS BUILT ON! 4x4 for the farmers.

If you want to flat out haul *** and catch major air with out feeling a thing, it is the 250X. Just kidding. If you were to ask the question this way: if you could have ANY quad brand new, money don't matter, I would have to say and 88 250R! Just my opinion though.
