A 300ex is a better beginner bike because they have alot more low end than a 400.. and they don't wheelie as easily.

Get the 400 and take it really easy so you can get used to how it feels. It will be the best. I moved from a trx125 to ridin my bros 400EX on occasion when I was 13 bc the 125 was to slow. Now I own the 400.

PS my Friend jump his $500 BMX out of my friends hay loft at a party, his first time doin anything remotely that big.(almost lost his feuture kids)

Yea, but I work to pay for my stuff, at most my parents go in half (with the exeption of x-mas and birthdays). Also, riding is my life, I think about it at least once an hour, and feel weird (withdrawl?) if I go without riding for a day or two. As my dad says, there is alot worse things to spend my money and time doing.

as long as u take it easy your first month or 2 and learn how the quad handles you'll be fine.

Hey, I'm 15 and have a 400 EX and a Recon also. Love both bikes. Not much to hgandle if you know when to let of the throttle and know how to use a brake.

I'm 15, 5'3, 120 lbs, and my first quad is my 2001 400EX, i got used to its power and Handling charecteristics within about 4 hours, I am very happy that I picked the 400EX as my first quad.

I am 6'2 225lbs and picked it as my first quad as well. I also got it because of a smokin good deal, 4300 with helmet 3 months after the guy bought it, and he paid 6100 for everything, we have a hellasious markup here in AK, and he gave me his financing paperwork with everything else, so I know how much he paid.

A sucker born every minute.
