400ex for Begginer
#1
Is the Honda 400ex good for a begginer? I have rode a Honda Fourtrax 300 4x4 and a Polaris Sportsman 500. I am 16 years old. I think I could handle the 400. I don't go crazy when it comes to stuff like atv's and stuff. I am only reckless when it comes to bicycles which I have been riding since I was about 5 years old. You ever turned in on a wet and slick paved road and then hit the grass at 35MPH on a Bicycle? IT hurts like HEL*. Ok back on the subject. Do you think I could handle the 400ex? I was just reading some reviews on the 400ex and the guy said "THIS IS NOT SOMETHING TO GET YOUR 16 YEAR OLD KID". What do you think all think? Thanks Matt

The 400 will be fine for you. It does not have near the power of the othe four big boys. The power it has is easy to handle. Handling is good. The only drawback is after a while you will wish you had more power. After you start throwing money into it to extract more power, that when you will wish you had gotten something else. The 400 is a good quad, just not the best.

I am 16 and could handle ANYTHING a 400EX could throw at me! I have been riding for a while and have had other quads and that has made a BIG difference. Get it though! If you don't maybe even a 2 or 3 year old 300EX to get started, then when you grow out of that, maybe we'll have a big bore Honda High-Performance quad to tell you to get, hehe.

Hasent every body been riding a bicycles since thay were 5.
The 400 is not for a person of any age that doesent have alot of "seat time" on any quad or dirtbike.
I would recommend a Blaster (best bang for the buck) that whay when you are ready to upgrade in a year or two you can sell it with not to much of a loss.

Riding the 400EX is fun, relaxing, or even challenging. It all depends on what and where your riding. I think It's a great all around performer. You can just putt around, or go all out by spending big bucks and modding it for motocross, or hair scrambles. As with any expensive toy, break it in easy, taking the time to really know it's, (and your) capabilities. Just have fun, always wear a helmet, and be considerate for land owners.

No I will not get a Blaster, Simply because I don't want a 2-Stroke. I don't have the time or money to be rebuilding it and plus, I am not trying to start a bashing contest but personally I am a HONDA MAN. Really i'm not bashing Yamaha, I thank they have great looking cars, Dirt bikes and ATV'S. But my dad has a HOnda Civic Hatchback that he's had for well over 20 years and he still drives it today. He has replaced the piston rings in it a couple times and it is a 5-Speed Manual Transmission and the 5th gear bearing just went out so he has to keep it out of 5th gear because of the loud and irritating nosie it makes. Thanks for the replys guys but the guy that said that about the blaster, No thank you but thanks for the reply. Matt
