For about 240 you can get a White Brothers R-4 system from Dennis Kirk. A friend of mine has it and it preforms very well.

i don't know why everyone thinks everyone should have a 400ex over a 300ex. The only difference is power. Everybit of power a 300ex offers is usable. The only time you are going to use all the power the 400ex has is on a motox track, straightaway, etc. You are never gonna blow a 300ex away on a tight trail (meaning the 2 riders are equally skilled). A 300ex could blow a 400ex away if the rider on the 400ex sucked. vis versa. A 300ex is a great quad, and you aren't going to go wrong with it. Sure a lot of people would like to have a 400ex, for example I would, but considering I have to pay for it, and I'm only 15 with no job at the moment, I'm kinda SOL. But I'm not complaining because there isn't one thing my 300ex hasn't done for me. Oh and all you 400ex guys, why didn't all of you wait and get a raptor? Don't give me BS about how its not honda, cause it is still a great quad, and yes, I have riden one.

i forgot to mention the exhaust, get a WB E-series slip on. You cannot go wrong. I have it on mine. I only have the slip on and it is great. It will cost you $230...I think thats what they are, but it will give you more power than any $200 full system. Maybe not supertrapp, because I've heard only good things about them. I can't tell you how good/bad they are because I don't have one. I have a white bros e-series slip on, and the power increase it very noticable. It sounds great to. Don't listen to the people that tell you not to get disc systems. Disc systems work just as good, or better. I recall the white brothers winning over every pipe in dirtwheeles. every pipe featured anyway. Not many of the systems compared were disc systems.

I didn't buy the 400ex cuz I didnt and still dont have access to MX tracks and I usually hit the trails. I also saved $1800. Now I have 4000 in my bank account, add 2000 for the 300ex/Recon when I sell one of them depending on whether I get a sport quad or 4x4, and I'll have $6000. Then add a summer job next summer I get any quad I want and a trailer hopefully. As long as I steer clear of spending on my car, I'll be fine for either the new Kawasaki's V-twin *i'm pretty sure I like it more than the Grizzly* or Honda's new Sports quad. But Cannondale and it's fuel injection is so attractive.

Hands down- the 400ex is a better machine- It will handle better than a 300ex- jump better- and blow it away in a drag race. 2 riders the same skill level- the 400ex will win. EVERY TIME.

But don't get me wrong- the 300ex IS a great quad- so is the 250ex. ...and yes- they both can hang with the 400ex... but if you lay it on the line- the 400ex will out preform the 300ex- just like it out performed the Raptor, Banshee, AND DS-650. It runs the fastest lap times on MX tracks due to it's superior handling.

Here's a new guy to the forum asking for pipe advice and some people have to question his choice of quads already. Everybody doesn't need a 400EX, especially a small 14 year old.
Be happy with your 300EX for now, it's a great quad and maybe later you will grow into the 400EX.
I know saving $60 bucks towards a White Bros for a 14 year old isn't always easy.
Like Need4Speed said the powroll with the Supertrapp is a nice exhaust already in your price range. We run it on our 250X and it sounds and performs great. The White Bros would be nice too if you can get mom or dad to spot you the extra cash.
