I just got my new 2002 400EX and am having trouble getting under the shift lever easily. Ever have this trouble? I have size 11 boots...not overly large....do they make an aftermarket or stock shift lever that is longer than normal? I have never had a quad before but on dirtbikes I have never had this happen. if your having trouble getting under it, then you don't need a longer one. just look where the shifter bolts to the motor. Loosen that bolt and push the pedal up, and tighten the bolt. I had to do it when I got a set of DG nerfs.

When you adjust your shift pedal (which will solve your problem)-
you need to take that bolt COMPLETLY OUT or it won't come off. Then just move it up a notch or two and it's perfect. I had to do the same thing with mine when I got boots.
