I am looking to buy some front shocks for my 300EX. I need some that jump well and are good at giving me a comfortable ride when I happen to go for a nice trailride. Also, if I get a pair of shocks that have more travel than stock will I have to get new A-arms? Thanks in advance for all of your answers.

there are SO SO MANY THINGS YOU CAN DO. im not gonna EXPLAIN em all. If you wanna be cheap, for $400, you can get a very effective 300ex->400ex a-arm and shocks conversion.
Personally, I'd suggest +2 A-arms to go with Works Triple Rates w/ Rezzys. That'll be VERY EXPENSIVE but VERY EFFECTIVE and worth it.
