Does the new 2002 recon have the same engine mods as they did to the 250ex the give it its ten percent horse power.

YES!

 

The Recon will only get the cylinder head and an oil cooler. The 250EX had a couple of other mods to give it 10% more power. They did something with the valves but I can't remember what it was. I think it was they made them open and shut faster and put them at a different angle I think.

 

All they did was revise the valve timing. I'm not sure of anything else though.

 

Yes it will,the new dirt wheels mag says the 2002 recon will have the sportier engine package as the 250ex.

 

Does anyone know if the oil cooler can be retrofitted?
