I have been wondering how much it would cost to have my 300ex's engine built for more power.Well cstark led me to a honda ex engine building company.
I want it sleeved to a true 300,port and polished,bigger valves,hardened rockers,stiffer valve springs and titanium retainers,race cam,fly wheel lightened,black box,and with new gaskets.
It would be around 1100 bucks.Then U put in a 39 mm carb then white bro's full exhaust,and then a 350x airbox tube,oil cooler,That would be another 750.
That is 1850 bucks and I might be able to keep up with a 400ex!
I am sorry if this post has no point I was just very suprised to find out that race motors cost this much.

I wouldn't get the flywheel lightened unless you are doing drag racing. I'm setting up my engine for reliability. 80mm piston to make it 300, AC oil cooler, 400EX carb, 350X intake, choke baffle removed, powroll 3" supertrapp with header, UNI airfilter, holes drilled in aribox, and i might cam the engine yet but I dont know for sure. I'm not porting it because even though I love working on my quad sometimes I just dont have the time to adjust the valves after every ride.
