The 440 will stomp a 250R, or LT250R.

 

You just made another mistake. A 440ex will not stomp a properly tuned 250 2 stroke, I should know I ride one. It may be a close race but I think you would be surprised.

 

A 440 is a VERY close race with me. If its a good one.

 

Hey Yellow440EX, What is this LIL Fair in NH? Me and a bunch of my buddies were planning on riding in Concord, On Sunday, but if this fair is cool maybe we will go there.

By the way to everyone else, if you read my message it says dump $1200 into a 400EX not into his 440EX, my buddies all have moded 400ex, and actually out of all of them the fastest is a 416, with a real big XR cam, as oppossed to the others that have 430's with EX rec cams, one has a ported head, and the 416 is the only one that can beat me.

 

MrCo my Banshee eats 440ex for dinner i never said that i currently owned a 250r or a Lt250r,anyway it is true that some 440ex will beat a stock 250r or Lt250r i have seen it many times but if the 250s are modded it all depends on the mods they have.By the way my Banshee aint stock so dont give me the "i have beaten many Banshees" you wont beat mine with a 440ex beleive me.

All I have on my LT250R is mild porting ($120.00) and a pipe, ($180), and I can stomp virtually all 4??EX variants that I have come accross. Let me throw another $600 into a big bore kit with some heavy porting and there isnt a 4??EX alive that would touch it. Now lets talk about 250R's for about $1500 you can squeeze 70 HP out of one, thats only $300-$500 more than most people throw into their 4??EX's, you would need a supercharger & Nitrous to make that much HP from a 400EX. I am really not trying to bash the 400EX as I think they are really good machines, they handle great and are alot of fun and are dead reliable but lets put things in perspective

And he is correct, as the 416 he is referring to is yours truly. And BTW--I only spent $700 on the motor to get it to take a LT250R, 430EX and a DS650 in 300+ yard drags...TIME AND TIME AGAIN.

And regarding the original post, most 400EX's make a weird whining sound (similar to imbackformore's whining) when they are warming up/cold. Is it that sound or different?

 

It is always fun to exchange ideas with you Mia,as far as your statement of me saying that a modded 400ex wouldnt beat anything lets get it out in the open, find the post and put a link so everyone can read if you ever can find such a post but i dought it very much.Mia how much hp you think your 416ex makes at rear wheels 35,37 or 38 hp and tell me if i am wrong but your bike weighs 375 lbs,now my Shee weighs 380lbs and puts 65-70 hp at rear wheels so how do you expect to win a drag race vs me you tell me.
