Well we need to clear one thing up here about a 440EX vs a fully modified 250R. In drag racing only, the built 250R will win by a good margin. My 270R built by Rick Kirmil has 55 RWHP verses 45 RWHP coming fom a built 440EX. The 440 will hook a litle better but then soon get passed. We do this ALOT up in Albany,Ga. As for racing in MX,TT,and Cross country, it depends more on the rider. I own a 1988 TRX 270R and 2001 (Yellow) 400EX. I like the 400EX better for anything other than all out racing.

2stroke,
my utility dog gets me around, and I think my XR600 is sport enough for me to speak when it comes to *****! I'm planning on trading the XR in on a 400ex soon, so maybe I'll learn what it takes for a quad to have *****. For now I'll just cruise on my old ball-less utility dog.........

00 Rancher 4x4 ES (ball-less utility dog)
00 XR 600 (big ole heavy *****) but quick
00 TTR 90 (kid's ride)
00 PW 50 (kid's old ride)

My 4 stroke quad weighs a little over 500lbs with fuel and water and oil all topped off, and I'd be happy to race IMBACKFORMORE's Banshee. No turbo's, no nitrous, no alchohol, just serious 4 stroke HP and TORQUE! Come on down to the south western U.S. and I'll line up with ya.

Bombardier DS650

12:1 compression
105.5MM bore[stock is 100]
97MM stroke[stock is 93]
760 CC's

The only Banshee's that have ever beeten me were 450cc's or more or running on alchohol and every Banshee that beet me had at least a +6" swing arm or more.

OK Knutz, first of all it is pretty obvious that you know nothing about Banshees if you think that big bored ones are the fastest a well built 350 will beat 420-500 cc Banshees.Second of all drag racing is a power to weight ratio thing so if your DS weighs 500 lbs and you make the same amount of hp as my Shee does, there is not a single chance that you would beat me.If you dont beleive me go to www.grandriverracing.com get on the tech forum and talk to Andy,he builds 350 Banshees that beats almost every big bore you can come up with and if you ask him how he does it he will answer you.No nitro or anything else involved just good engine work.

Did I forget to mention that I have a built Banshee as well. I use it to compiar the DS to for the magazines and prospective customers. The power and torque are so deceptive that you find yourself going alot qiucker and faster than you thought you were. So I bring the Banshee along so riders can see how far it gets smoked by. Here is a news flash, torque will make up for the weight disadvantage that I have, and I've got near 3 times the torque of the best running Banshee's that I've seen dyno charts for.

Watch for a full feature on my DS motor program in the November issue of Dirt Wheels magazine. Keep in mind that the LT500[built by Duncan Racing] that will be in the October issue was at the same photo shoot, and was raced against mine 20-30 times. It was a very close race every time, with who ever got a better start taking the win. The difference was that the LT500 was lowered and had an extended swing arm, while mine was set up to do 70-80 foot jumps. Every test rider there agreed, mine made more and better power.

Knutz contact Andy at Grandriverracing and beat one of his 350s and if you do wich i dont beleive one bit,you wont even beat his mildy modded Shee wich makes 75 hp at rear wheel. And i am sorry to tell you but torque isnt a factor in a drag race cause if it did then you would be able to beat an F1 in a quarter mile race cause those race cars have no torque at all,you going to tell me you can?

I'm done with this conversation now. You showed your total lack of intelligence with the statement that torque has nothing to do with drag racing.

HP is an equation of torque and RPM. HP=torquexRPM/5250

After you get yourself an education, maybe we can discuss this with some reasonable knowledge. Untill then, I won't be answering your silly comments.

OK here we go buddy lets do some math here,
I own 2 snowmobiles;
1 polaris 800 XC SP,80 pounds of torque at 7500 rpm =133 hp
1 polaris 800 XCR ,70 pounds of torque at 8500 rpm =165 hp

If you drag race the 2 sleds the XCR800 totally hammers the 800 XC SP even though the 800 XC SP makes more torque at lower rpms. Now since you are a genius you explain that to me.

so you by saying 4??ex your saying you could beat a 465 or a 490. This quote was from SPARKS RACING "The 465 was able to outrun one of our 265 National motors. It went toe to toe with one of our 330R motors." I personnaly have beatten piped 250r's and stock banshees. YellowIMS440ex "WHY STROKE IT TWICE WHEN U CAN 4 TIMES?" so, so true
