Man, thats some flow! It looks like you can pick up a used 400EX for $4000 grand if you shop around a little bit and with the extra $2000 you saved you could probably make some better mods. Duncans 440 complete kit costs $1850 (minus Edelbrock carb) and is probably the best built kit there is for the 400 right now (this included porting and everything). You can read a review of the kit (and the rest of their goodies) in the July ATVAction.

 

at ATV trader there was a fully modded out yellow 440EX in perfect condition for like 2200 bucks. thats the best deal i have evr seen in my life, my friend was gonna sell his 400 to buy that but he never did cuz we figured it was gone since it was such a steal plus even if it wasn't gone by the time he got his 400 sold it woulda been gone.

 

sounds like a good deal to me, too bad i got a raptor already i would be interested in it.

Yeah the motor would be voided but Honda is very good about their warranty and my dealer covers everything possible for me. I have a CBR 900RR with pipe jet kit and carbs. They never gave me any crap for a 2nd gear fix and other small stuff. The warranty would still cover gearbox drivetrain and suspension. It all depends on your relationship with the dealer I guess. If it is not obvious abuse my dealer hooks me up. I stripped a oil cap bolt and he helicoied it under warranty. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] $2200 for a Yellow 440 that is insane. The cheapest I've been quoted was $6050 out the door. Raptors have power but are too unstable on the track to me, the 400 is a natural jumper/racer.

 

umm...not to me. i've seen similar quads for 500-2000 less. just return to ebay often, look in local classifieds, and classified ads in sites like this and the "other atv site". This is not a deal for me.
