jumping 300ex

yo man-
it all depends on the situation, the size of the jump, and how high and far you want to go. this is such a broad question, which will get numerous answers. all jumps require different speeds man. give a little detail.
ride til you can't any more.

I have a 400, and on the track, I hit the tabletops I can get a good run at topped out in 3rd or in the bottem end of 4th, but usually on the trails and stuff I jump in 2nd - sometimes 3rd. It's whatever feels comfortable to you, you know? Whatever the jump allows you to do without you losing control.

whatever the situation, i usually want to leave the jump at mid-range to the end of the powerband. i uaually hit most jumps in either 2nd. or 3rd. gear on the trails, and 4th. on the track.
Start out small and work your way up untill you get a good feel for your machine and what it does in the air.
Good Luck!!!

i also like to take them in midrange...almost always 3. but i don't do big jumps...i bet if i were doing bigger jumps i may step up to 4 but hopefully get the revs i want in that gear.
