Justed wanted to give you first hand experience of what happens when small amounts of dust get into your engine.

I was riding at a local track for practice for about 3 hours. Got home and the next day was riding around my yard and noticed smoke coming out of my exhaust. Did some checking and found the filter had let dust get into the carb and then into the motor. This abrasion cut into the cylinder walls and rings which reduced compression and now the motor is burning oil. So the motor needs new rings, pistons, cylinder sleeve or bored, oil changed, and possibly valve seals.

Lesson learned, keep your filter clean and OILED (i never oiled mine). This is to help others from making the same mistake I did.

But oh well,, ordered a 440 kit to take care of this problem .

you won't need a new sleeve or valve seals.

Only a new piston, rings, and depending on the cuts you could maybe just get away with a hone. I did that on my blaster instead of boring and it worked fine.

you can get that fixed for under 100 if you know your way around a quad motor

thats correct. You dont need a new sleeve but i opted for a big bore kit.

But if this neglect has happened for very long, it will damage much more than just the cylinder wall, piston, and rings. It will eat at the valve seals, cam, bearings, etc. If the problem if found quick, then most likely these seals, bearings, etc will still be in good shape. Just need a changing of the oil (or better yet, a couple changes)
