I think you can find fairly inexpensive units for around $100 or so, maybe less on sale. They would have plenty of information on them if you don't need mapping capabilities. I have the Garmin Map 12, which works quite well, though it was a little more expensive at around $300-though as the name implies, has mapping capabilities. One thing to watch though if you decide to get a higher priced unit-they usually contain a lot more information, so make yourself well aware of the instruction manual! Unless you use the thing every single day, it can be hard to remember where to find certain things, or how to use specfic features.
