He said it would probably go 85-90. i dont know alot about polaris's but i dont think they would go that fast so i was like ok( laughing in my mind). i just wanted to know what the real top speed of it was. so could u help me out and let me know if i am wrong.

Hahahaha...85-90...that's good. I can't believe someone could actually tell you that with a straight face.
You're right, they don't go that fast. Speeds on the 2x4 Scram 400's are probably right around 62-64. I saw 65 on mine when it was stock, but it was on a slight downhill grade on pavement.
He'd have to have a full HPD Race quad (or be running some really hot setup) to see speeds even close to those on a Polaris.
Line up to him with your 400ex, and after you beat him on top-end say "Man, you were flying when I passed you!".

bone stock 400 scrams sure don't reach 85-90mph!! ahahah
Last year, me (piped banshee) and Xplor (400 scram...at that time only with airfilter, pipe and clutch kit...I think) raced on a hard pack (almost rock hard) dirt road, and I was slightly faster than him. With the "big" 22 inchers in the back, I might have hit a 75mph(?) top speed, so he was in the low 70s.
Anyways, I don't think there is one stock quad that reaches that kind of speeds...it wouldn't be politically correct!!

<< theres no way the scrambler goes more than 62! >>
I don't know. Like I said, when mine was stock it was clocked at 65mph with a GPS. However, I also said that it was on pavement on a slight downhill grade. A Scrambler may not go 65mph in regular conditions, however, I am sure that it does at least 60mph. I pass my friends Warrior, like my friends Banshee passes me. Either way, stock vs. stock, an EX is faster on top end.

No stock ATV's will go that fast, very few if any at all , heavily modded ones will go that fast. 65 will tie a 400 up in stock form. you will not fly right by a wide open 2x4 Scram with a 400EX. Not saying a 400Ex might not beat one but fly right by I know for a fact will not happen. you know dealers tell tall tales when selling atv's maybe the dealer told the kid it would, when I bought my Warrior the Yamaha dealer told me I would get 75 out of it. The Honda dealer told me the top speed of the 1994 Honda 300 4x4 was over 60!
