200sx vs 250ex

When I had fast trekkers (or whatever the name is) on my SX I had a heck of a time hitting 45MPH but now with close to stock balloon dunlops my SX hits 51MPH easy due to the larger tire, to blow 60MPH I would pick up a larger front sprocket ( 1 tooth) and just air up the tires to 10PSI thats the economy way, NOS would be another cool crowd pleaser!

I have a 86' 200sx and a 2001 250ex. There is no comparison. You would have to do many mods to compare to the 250. Honda has came a long ways in 15 years of engine design. Many mods you can do today isn't available for the 200. There is only one pipe on the market. Cam and piston would help but weight of the bike is still a huge issue. The 200sx was a trail bike and I still would say it will outclimb the 250ex due to the low range and center of gravity it has. It will take more of a beating than the 250 will too.

So the 300ex isn't much faster than the 250ex? Doesn't the 300ex only do like 55 or so? If the 250ex goes 53, then that's hardly a difference. Put a fat guy on the 300 and a average guy on the 250 and the 250 would probably win if that was the case. I just thought it was strange cause I always here the 300ex owners dissing the 250ex owners.
I have another question...Are the 250ex frames and the 300ex frames the same?
See ya.

Yeah but put a fat guy on a 300 EX and have a normal guy on a 250 and the 300 will probably win still cause it takes a hell of a lot longer to get the 250 up to speed. The 300 will kill it in acceleration no matter how fat the guy is. It is kinda like the DS650 and the Raptor. They have the exact same top speed but the Raptor gets there faster so the Raptor will win a stock for stock drag race.
And no the 250 has its own frame cause it said in an adevertisement "all new sporty frame"

I very seriously doubt a 250ex will run with a 300ex. A 300ex does around 56-58 stock. Depends on what and who is riding the quad. A 250ex does in the range of 50-52 stock. 52 vs 56 is only 4 mph, but no matter what the 300ex will pull away from it and will keep pullin away becuase it is going faster.
