Rancher Question
#1
Just bought a new 2X4 Rancher. This bike doesn't get much attention, but I can't say enough about what a great ride it is! Basically it's a larger scale Recon (and you all know how great the little Recon is!). Honda should be marketing this bike as the RECON FOR LARGER PEOPLE!! Anyway, have any of you retrofited a fan on the manual shift model?? I noticed Honda lists a "fan kit" as an accessory in one of their promos.

I have the 4x4 es and the fan is standard on that model (TRX350FE) The fan is set to come on when oil reaches near critical temperetures, like when using 4x4 under load crawling. It's a non issue unless you are crawling slow and/or running against a load in hot weather. Fitting the fan in may be right for some of the 2wd's ranchers, but I doubt you got the 2 wd machine for heavy work.
edit added: The other thing a fan is good for (other than slow riding/work use) would be for if you have an application with extended idling, that can drive up oil temperetures and roast a air cooled motor that's not getting any air flow.
