What do you guys use to lock-up your quads. I do not want to run a chain through my frame "cause that has already damaged the frame on my hubby & brother-in-law's "R"s. Any suggestions. The quads are stored under the sundeck behind my house in a fenced yard.

I use a 1/2inch thick cable that has rubber over it to keep it from scratchin things up. I run through the frames of my 250ex, 3004x4, and lawnmower. Plus we have a 1800 square foot shop we keep um locked up in.

Go to home depot and look in there lock section for high strength locking cables made by master. They come in different lengths. They are plastic coated and will not harm the paint. Looped ends that except locks of different sizes. They are not cheap though.

I don't use a chain. My bikes & quad are protected by Smith & Wesson. Make my day.

I don't even lock my bike. I left it in the front yard overnight with the key in a by accident a few times and nothing happened to it. I just leave it unlocked in the garage when I'm done riding. Well I guess I have nothing to worry about since I live in a neighborhood with all old retirees. And IF someone wants to come take my quad they have to get by my 2 pitbulls first

When someone takes off on your bike could you try and get a picture of that. That would be interesting with person on bike with pit bull attached to their neck going down the road and the other pit bull attached to atv or their leg. (ouch)

Did you know that Recons are pit bull proof. So if they take your Recon just hope the pit bulls are really attached to person because they will not be able to attach to Recon. I am almost sure that the last time I looked at mine one of those safety signs says pit bull has no affect on this machine. Circle around pitbull with slash through it. Its just another fine feature that Honda has put on the machine. I just love my recon knowing its pit bull proof.

That cover still won't make your 400ex pit bull proof. You should have purchased the cover for the Recon and then you wouldn't have to worry about even someone giving it a third look.
