I had one on my quadsport and heres what I thought. I ride mainly on trails and a homemade moto x track.
Its alot harder to balance wheelies
Harder to keep the quad level on jumps
Dangerous on hillclimbs cause you can't let off
Gives more instant throttle response
The reason I can't use a twist throttle is cuz I have little times on a dirtbike and it was my first ride with one. I would have kept it if it hadn't have broke. I would suggest getting a vortex motion pro instead of the cheaper plastic one. With enough time I would have loved it. I might get one for my ex and learn to use it.

I had one on my old blaster and I hated it, the concept was nice but leave the twist's on the cycles for me...

I have one on my 400EX, and I love it. I didn't used to like them, but after I raced my first 2 hour XC, I had to have it. It just took some getting used to. Now I want one for my 4x4.

i got one on my 300EX. one of the better investments i made. i just like the fell of the twist. i have always had them on my quads and bikes. they're not for everyone though. i see no additional problems when riding. the only problem i have is when riding my mx track. but, i have gotten used to it.

I ride quite a bit and over time my wrist has come acustomed to it. My legs get more sore than anything. It is agreat investment if you liek the twist. You'll get used to it.

I've rode for many years and have rode on some really long rides and my wrist or thumb never has been sore. So as long as they don't I'll keep my thumb throttle.
