I'v been racing district 23 motocross and harescrambles this season off and on. I"m riding a ds650 and have found that its really hard to race hard, it wears me down to nothing by the end of the race and its pretty damn hard to controle when it gets sideways in the air. Anyways..I was looking for a new bike and i found a 00' 400ex with the following mods:
Words Triple Rate Shocks (front)
Laeger protrax front end (+4" wider than stock)
Roll-design sold cromoly tie-rods
Douglas red labels w/ beadlocks(rear)
Turf Tamers (rear)
Rikens radials w/ Douglas red label wheels w/ reinforced rings (front)
K&N air filter
FMF exhaust
Lonestar adj. axel (+1 thru +4" adj.)
Renthal bars
Graves Motorsports seat cover
Maier YZ blue plastic (race cut front)
Stock plastics w/ lights (red)
Brand new Ohtsu radial front tires (22x7x10 mounted on the factory wheels)
11:1 compression piston
DG aluminum nerfs
K&K number plates
K&K billet seat latch
All this for 5,000$ shipped from Oaklahoma. ITs a killer looking fourwheeler, everything has less then a few rides on it. I recieved pictures of every angle of the ex. Looks very cherry. I even called the guy and he started it up for me (i called when he wasnt expecting, and it started right up). The bike has NOT been raced other then when he was out wiht some friends on a local track.
WHat you guys think?

actually i was gonna get the quad ur talking about and the guy claims that it has 40 hours on it if u look at the frame and right by the pegs u can see a hole lot of wear froma boot or something it has to have well over 40 hours thats why i just bought a stock 400ex instead

Why would that be a problem with those shocks? about them being tripple rates? What else is wrong w/ it..i'm sure those shocks are better then stock anyway man. That protrax front end consists of upper and lower aarms, about 500 dollars, not 155.
