Scoddee, the 911 trademark light rear end hasnt been present for a number of years now. The 911's that show oversteer characteristics did not exhibit it while on power either, off power oversteer was a problem but on power it was a dream. Though it did like to brake loose out back it was still very predictable and easy to drive out with some pressure on the accelerator (thats the furthest to the right).
I saw somebody post that Mazda didnt intend for it to be a cute commuter car, you must be joking right? Thats exactly what Mazda and Ford intended to do with it. Correct me if I'm wrong but was the Capri riding the same exact chassis as the Miata? Kind of like the Probe and MX6, Ranger/B series truck, Millenia/Taurus, Escort/MX3, the list goes on. For what it is it may be fun for you to drive. The only acceptable Miata was the Monster Miata with a 5.0 HO in it. So much for the weight distribution, lol.
Its also common knowledge that a car that is loose is a pain in the a$$ to drive. Everybody I know that races prefers a car the exhibits slight understeer to one that wants to step out on you.

You are wrong. The Capri is a totally different car. Its front wheel drive.
I never said the miata was loose. Its not, at ALL. The It does understeer slightly. But, if at that point you let off the throttle slightly (the one farthest on the right) the rear will start to creap out. Its balanced perfectly.
The miata was NOT intended to be a commuter. Would you consider old MG, Fiat spider, Alfa, ect... commuter cars? No, they were lightweight, convertable, rear wheel drive, great handling roasters.
Miata is the same thing, only modern and reliable.
ps. A monster miata conversion is a ruined miata.

I wasnt sure about the Capri being the same. I can tell you that they did make tons of 5.0 Camaros though. They used the 305 and the Formula Firebirds also used the 305's. Doesnt it suck to be wrong I hate when I have to eat my own foot, lol.
Anyways, this topic is better left to a car forum rather than the Honda ATV forum. Lets give it a rest. This is what makes America so great, millions of different opinions.

The Miata is a great car, reliable, good gas mileage, a convertible which is a plus, and can be found decently priced in the used market. They are fun , pretty quick and handle very well. There is not really a bad thing about them. maybe not for everyone, but if i lived in a warmer climate my garage would have one in it.
