Goodbye

Most of the rebuttals I recieve to my responses are from some kid who's parents' purchased a Blaster for him months ago. For some reason, this makes the child into an expert on all things with four wheels and an engine.
I have to disagree with that statement. Before I got my 250ex i studied quads for about 2 years. I live close to a dirt-dragstrip and there is tons of 4-wheelers down there. Me and my friend honda445ex go there every other Saturday and try to guess what the four-wheeler has on it. There is a 3-wheelr down with a 4 cylinder streetbike engine that is running 3.4 on a 300 foot dragstrip. Some of the people may be like that but I am not. I know a pretty good bit about four-wheelers.

I'm one of those kids. Though I try not to quadbash. I very rarely quadbash. When I give info it's usually from experiences with me or my friends. But I'm very sorry to hear that u would be leaving just because of some people that ruin it for all of us. When u say that old forum members have went to other forums could you please tell me which forums there are. I would like to be able to ask people questions that have a great deal of knowledge. If not I understand completely because I still have a lot to learn. Please reconsider your choice.
SINCERELY,

<< thats being a bit discrimative >>
Nope, it's discriminating.
I was using the boy and his blaster as an analogy for everything I find frustrating about this forum.
Adults are able to utilize basic analogies to determine a complex meaning. Young people are not able to do this yet - most people think in concrete terms until they are in their mid-20's. Life is more black and white to a young person - the grey areas are not visible yet. They also are self centered - in the true meaning of the term - they filter all information through the main thought "how does this apply to me, or affect me". This isn't wrong, but simply how the juvenile mind works.
Actually, many of the answers from younger people to this thread are well thought out, well reasoned responses to a tiny portion of my original statement. The young people who responded grabbed ahold of the Blaster analogy and that's all they see. Because of this inability to view the complaint as a whole, the young person focuses on the portion of it which involves himself (or herself, as the case may be), and sets up his response based on that first analysis.
It's a perfect example of the reason it's difficult for adults and kids to enter into a serious discussion. Our brains work differently.
This doesn't mean people under 25 are stupid, or can't contribute to intellectual society - they can, but it is typically on a different level than the average adult.
Of course, there are 40 year-olds who still think in concrete terms, and kids who are able to perform admirably as complex thinkers - but these are the exceptions, rather than the norm.

PAM! Don't leave!! You know more about quads than all these other guys! If I have a technical question, I seriously think about putting ATTENTION PAM FALICIONI as the title. The post I recall now is in ATV RACING and it's started by crhye250r.. MXBUBS was arguing with you.. He has some good info, but a loud mouth. Well Pam, if you leave, be expecting an email or two from me!!

That wasn't quite the response I had planned there Pam.. lol I apologize for all the morons that argue with you.. I've taken some stuff wrong in here too.. But.. Alot of people are just too prideful of their machines. I will stick up for mine, but some people go too far.. Hey I'm only 16.. and some of these people in here are alot older than I am... and know alot more.. But, I don't think you will find anyone with a stronger love for the sport. Happy riding Pam!

I'm sorry to hear that you're leaving Pam. Thanks for the help you've given everyone, including myself.
There are annoying members here as on most forums- there are lots of good members too. What I like about this forum is the large number of people using it. Some of the other forums have so little traffic that they're starved for new or interesting posts. I guess there will be fewer interesting posts here too.
