Need help choosing between 450es and Kodiak
#1
I'm looking at buying my first atv. It is a toss up between the Kodiak and Honda450es. I will be using it mostly for hunting and mild trail riding. I would also like to use it to plow snow. I am partially disabled and I am a bit on the large side(601-240lb) I have concerns that the Kodiak will be lacking power to plow with my weight on the machine. I am also limited now in upper body strength and have concerns that the Honda being 4wd all the time will be too much for me. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I would take the 2000 kodiak. I think an auto-trans is great for plowing and the kodiak in low range would have enough power to handle it. Require less effort in 2wd for turning and seems to be quite good in trail riding...

With the Honda you'll get that legendary reliability, plus with the ELECTRIC SHIFT MANUAL TRANSMISSION everything is at your fingertips and you still have the strength of a manual transmission with the ease of an automatic. I have a 450ES and use it as a tractor on my ranch (pulling, pushing, plowing, carrying), as well as for recreation. It sure does the trick for me, and the electric shift ( same as used on Formula 1 cars) sure works slick.
