<< Did I mention that the polaris would also holeshot my banshee and the shee would be behind until 3rd gear? Or that the 600lb farm rig could lift the front tires with my 115lb girlfriend sitting on the front rack? Or that a handfull of throttle when the speedo reads 25mph yields a heartstopping wheelstand >>

I think your smokin some serious crack man.

I Drag my 2001 Sportsman400 And I havent lost!
And any atv can do a wheelstand if you know how to ride it I had my Sportz 90% going 35MPH!
All I do is hold the brake give it just less than it needs to go forward then let go of the brake and gun it.
I'm tired of hearing people say Polaris suck!

Seriously Man, the best way to go about this would be the second gear start.... All utility models have a super low for tugging or crawling out of messes. Second gear though is much higher and is like a 3rd gear in comparison to a sport quad... Get it into second and hold it up and give it some revs, actually the higher the better, but dont blow the top end right off though man.... When that second light blinks get ready to drop out and hit 3rd quickly man and then from there its up to you and your knowledge of the shift pattern and sound of your machine..... One more note: NOT A GOOD IDEA TO DO THIS OVER AND OVER AGAIN WITHOUT BEEFING UP THE TRANNY MAN!!!!! Just like anything else if your gonna RACE you must PAY To PLAY!!!!!

Hey everybody,
I swear this is no joke. I am not one of those polaris rule everything else sucks kind of guys. I am more proud of the banshee and 250X. Do you think I like admitting my expensive race engine gets smoked? The only salvation for most stock sport models against this 4X4 is the polaris top ends at about 60 (checked against a 2000 camaro). I never dreamed this bike would run like this. Another thing you all might want to consider, the polaris is 2-stroke. I carefully picked the clutch kit to not reach full engagement unit 3900-4000 rpm. If anyone has ever driven a car with a stall converter, they can understand how this helps. A punch on the throttle from a standstill yields the same as a 4000rpm holeshot with no slowing down to shift, and no drag on the engine. The engine revs to about 6500 and remains their throughout the entire race. The tranny does all of the speeding up while the engine remains in constant power. The polaris is a very buildable engine. I've seen a local built 400 Sport almost lap banshees to bring on a win at a local track. I'm sorry if you feel you must see it to believe it. If I had a good way of showing you outside of coming to your house, I would.

bermbanger, you are definately wrong about it not hurting the quad. If you don't believe me, I'll send you what's left of the original c-clutch on my recon.
