Tire Patching
#1
I have a question about patching a tire. How do you do it? I was out riding with my friend Hacksaw the other day and I guess I got a thorn or something in my tire and anyway it got a small hole about the size of a pin hole.
Please help!

When I get small holes I use Fix-a-flat in a can and it usually holds it fine. If its a bigger hole then you can either get your tire plugged with a kit that i think is sold in Dennis Kirk ,or take off the tire and put a patch on the inside (bicycle patch works good) or you could put a tube in there and not worry about filling the hole.

Personally, I was never a fan of fix-a-flat. I would plug it. You can get plugs a t Wal-Mart, K-Mart or any autoparts store. The best ons are the kind that are like a short pieve of rope covered in a sticky substance. They work VERY well and will vulcanize to the tire. I've had some on my Warrior for years with no leaks.
If you get a big hole the best thing to do is remove the tire and patch the inside of the tire and/or put a tube in it. A lot of tire shops do ATV wheels.

I have this in all my tires even my lawn machines. It saved me one time when I was on my Recon far away from home. I didn't even realize I had run over a big 4 inch nail until we got home and my son saw some of the green slime coming out when we had parked. The slime let the tire keep pressure. I like it even more so for my lawn equipment because I don't get flats anymore when I am mowing in our fields. Just go to www.slime.com
