What a different it made. My 400EX starts better and runs better to. It had over 100 hours on it and it was getting hard to start plus the tapping was getting louder.

It was not hard to do at all it took me about 15 min.

I have that on my list of stuff to do over Labor day weekend. I have the service manual and it says to remove the gas tank. Did you find that this is necessary? Realizing that it is not hard to remove, I would just rather not spend the time if it wasn't necessary.

Theres no way you could adjust valves without taking the gas tank off. Hell my 300 only has 2 bolts to the gas tank so it would only take 30 seconds.

Yes you must remove the gas tank. i even removed the front fenders so i could clean out all the mud and crap in the hard to reach places.
