i'm 16 and have a 2001 yellow 400ex im thinking about buying a 250r. its an 88 but i needs work it was wrecked last and has been sitting since then it needs handlebars, bearings, bushings, rings(prob new top end),2 new front rims, it needs work basically which was why i wanted to buy it so i could fix it up i sorta have a limited budget but he said he wanted 2200 for it and i think i might offer 1500 but i am gonna have my dad look at the front end and the frame w/me just to make sure its ok also i was wondering what a new front end would cost(just estimate wise) just wanted some opinions on what you think

Dude you are getting ripped off if you are going to pay $2200 for that !! What do you mean by "front end" ? shocks and a-arms ? if thats what your talking about then I would say $1000 and up for good a-arms and shocks.

my dad and i went and looked at it today. we started it up and it sounded great its got a fatty and silencer on it(nice) anyway the front end and frame looked fine when we checked it over but one thing i noticed was like the bearing at the front of the swingarm was out too and i wasn't sure how much one of those would cost??

I would offer him 1500 and maybe go up to 1800. No higher, you can get one running in half way decent shape for that much.
A new set of shocks and A-arms, if you get top quality will cost between 1200 and 1500 bucks. I can sell you a set of stock ones if that what you want for WAY cheaper. But with my Krypton A-arms and TCS shocks, it was about 12 or 1300
