Squeaky Shock syndrome
#1
I have a 2001 Rancher and for the past few weeks my front shocks are miserably squeaking.
I took both shocks off trying to find the sound and I tried to clean them, for mud and regrease them but to no prevail. I only have 575 mile on it and clean it regularly. Is there special grease for this type situation. Any help would be appreciated.

I myself have had the squeaky shock blues.Only it was on my 250r.
I took all the bolts out of the A-arms and put wheel bearing grease on them. And then I took the 4 shock bolts out and greased them also.
Guess what my 250r doesn't sound like the tin man after a thunderstorm!
It takes a little time but it worked in my case atleast.

I had the same problem on my 2001 rancher and I took the shock loose where it bolts to the lower a-arm and put some grease inside the shock bushing, that cured it. The service manual clearly says that there's supposed to be grease in there but when I took mine loose it was dry as a bone. Whoever put the thing together at the factory didn't grease it. The service manual calls for some kind of moly grease but I didn't have any so I used regular high temp grease for wheel bearings, it's working fine.
