I'm a experienced rider, currently have a Honda 250x fourtrax. I have grown up now, exceeding 6'6" tall weighing in at 220 lbs. I just hit the sand 3 weeks ago and have come to the conclusion that the 250x does not have as much power as I need to climb the hills at Little Sahara State park, Ok. So my question is which should or would work better for me? The Banshee or a Honda 250R? Or what about the 400EX?

Thanks

It really matters what type of riding you will be doing. For sand and mostly straightaways, you'd want a Banshee. If you want more of a woods quad(good handling), you'd want a 400EX.

A 250R will do both...if you can find one in good condition and a decent price, go for it.

I plan on riding 3/4 of the time at the Sand Dunes in Oklahoma. I would be going up to Colorado in the summer maybe once or twice. DECISIONS, DECISIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unless you can't stand not being the fastest, which from your current quad I don't think that is a factor, or you are really ready to spend a lot of time and money on keeping a two-stroke running good, I'd go with the 400ex. they are great machines for just about anything. and since you indicated that you probably do some trail riding aslo, you would much rather have the 4-stroke. but that's just my opinion....

The way I look at it, buy a quad for your primary riding.

From your message it looks like sand. Get the Banshee. It is the BEST quad for sand. The Banshee is only 2nd or 3rd in the woods. So if you were to look at rankings for the woods the 400EX is first, and there is some discussion as to whether the 205R is next or the Banshee.

So the Banshee seems like the right choice. Best machine in the sand, and the only other machine which is better is the 400EX in the woods. If I couldn't have a 400EX, it would be a tough decision between a Banshee and 250R. I can buy a brand new Banshee, so that would be my choice.

Thats the way I see it.

Get a Banshee. It shreds in the sand. To ride 3/4 of the time in the sand, it would be pointless not to buy one. I dont know what he was talking about when he said that 2 strokes need alot of time and money to keep running. The only thing i have to do to my banshee to keep it running is buy new pistons 1 time every 3 seasons.
