I just bought this 250r acouple mounths ago and i did a compression check and it was at 195 psi.I think that is very for a mild engine. The only thing the engine has done to it is has a mid range port job and has a cylinder spacer plate with an 86 piston and is an .080 over piston. They guy said he never touched the head when he rebuilt it.Im not complaining about it being high, im just wondering what would make it so high.

Thinner head gasket..i.e CR head gasket

No base gasket(s), spacer not to spec thickness (.190)

Head HAS been modified...

A CR head gasket would put you in that range for compression...or a spacer with no base gaskets...
