Is it just me or do you guys think that Honda should come out with a 2 stroke quad. Shoot, the 250 R is what 13 years and older and it is still kickin butt. They have like what 4 2 stroke engines to choose from. I bet they could even use the 400 EX frame with a few mods done to it. But then would Honda lose there dependability reputation. I really think that they need something to compete with the shee. What do you guys/girls think.

I think I would not hold my breath...I highly doubt that you will see another 2 stroke quad out of honda.

The 2 strokes are a dieing breed. The EPA has just about eliminated them. No manufacture will spend R&D money on a new 2 stroke. Look at all the traditional 2 stroke powered devises that are giving way to 4 strokes.
1. Outboard boat motors
2. MX dirt bikes
3. weedeaters & leaf blowers
You can forget about new 2 strokes.

Boxofrokx,

You're obviously not aware of the new Honda CR two strokes. They are all new engines and may be the best two strokes ever! I do agree that four strokes are becoming much more competitive due to new alloys, technology, and emissions.
If honda would just shove a XR650 engine into a 400EX frame I would buy it instead of the Quadzilla I'm intending to buy.

Vagas, no I am not aware of the 'new' CR motor. Since I started riding mx bikes in the mid '70s I have only seen 2 'new' thing come to 2 stroke bike motors.
1. water cooling in the early '80s
2. variable exaust ports in the '90s
What is new about the CR?

There has been some new things in outboard motors (fuel injection, variable oil mix ratios, direct injection after the exaust port closes). Has some of these made it to the mx bikes?
