I am a very prowd owner of a Cannondale FX 400. In one more week my quad will be 4 months old. I also use to be a prowd owner of a 300ex and 250x (didnt say VERY). The only problem Ive had so far is my clutch fried, but get this, it was my fault not Cannondales. I didnt have it adjusted properly and after a few rides and a MX race it burned out. Now here goes the good part, my quad was 3 months old when this happened and Cannondale replaced it for free. The clutch isnt even supposed to be included in the 6 month warranty. Is your Hondas? I didnt think so. Some guys at the track that race 400ex's told me that I'm lucky (which I already know ) because our local Honda dealership wont warranty anything on their quads because they race them. The dealership knows who races and who dosent also, because they are the track sponsor! So whats up with this kind of warranty, is Hondas warranty a joke. The guys at my Cannondale dealership know that I race, as well as Mr. Scott Montgomery (since he visits these forums). Any way if my memory serves me correctly didnt honda have some saftey recalls on some of there models a year or so ago? Cannondale is here for us racers and riders. I think we should be there for them! Where has Honda been? Oh! I forgot they've been taking our money and pouring it into new bikes and utility ATV's. Im starting to think Artic Cat will make a race quad before Honda and Kawasaki does.hee hee!

"Maybe we havn't seen a new Honda, because HONDA GETS IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME! They don't rush stuff to market that isn't thoroughly tested and refined."

To that i have to say that honda has had fuel injection in the cbr f4i for more than a year, aluminum frames are allready on there dirt bikes, and thay have many great motors to choose from. So thay have done the r&d on all the main components that would make up a new quad.
Do u realy think thay tested the 400EX that long look what thay did, a XR400 motor, and a frame very similar to the 250R thats it. I realy thaught honda was going to come out with something new this time around but thay didn't and thay had plenty of time to. Dont get me wrong i love my 400EX, and i am still hopeing for a new quad from honda. But lets stop making excuses for them.

In the last few years, how many new bikes has Honda come out with? Recon, 400EX, Rancher, Rubicon, 250EX, and now the Rincon. How many bikes did the other manufacturers come out with in the same period of time? So, nobody can say Honda's R&D department hasn't been buisy! All of these bikes are selling VERY well, so you can't say Honda isn't giving the customers what they want. We here in the forum are enthusiasts, so we have a much greater proportion of performance riders than the general public. From a business point of view, you have to please the general public first, because that is where your bread and butter is. On the other hand, Honda has to admit it is losing sales to the Raptor.

Anyway, personally I am willing to give Honda yet another year, and hope they come through! For me, this is the only option I can see. The C'dale has BOTH an unproven frame and engine, not to mention the fuel injection. If in a couple of years, the engines are doing well, and the frames aren't full of cracks, well that will make it a different matter. And, has everybody forgotten how C'dale rushed the dirt bike into production, then had to back off because of problems? So, YOU GUYS GET OUT THERE AND TEST THOSE C'DALES FOR US!!! We'll be waiting for your results!
