I want some info on a 400EX...

the scrambler should work, it is auto, so it can pull. you can get racks for a 300EX, and i think you can get a hitch. I'm not sure maybe someone can clarify. 300EXs are good for play and go cheaper than 400EXs by a bit i think.

The 400ex isn't for work at all. It is strickly a play machine. If you are looking for a machine for work and play it sounds like you should get a sport/utility machine like a Honda Recon or something. If you are looking for a machine to work and a machine to play you should get a utility quad and a 400ex.
I am warning you though man, stay away from Polaris's. They are all pieces of junk. I have several friends that owned Polaris quads, and all had problems with them. (i.e. Scrambler 400, 500, Trailblazer, Trail Boss) Trust me don't do something stupid. Buy a Honda or a Yamaha.

Fourtracker14, my Yamahas have been in the shop much more than my Polaris'. I suggest that you don't start putting their quads down since you've never owned one. Given, Honda has a reliable reputation, but ALL quads are equal if you do something called MAINTENECE.

its ignorant statements like that fourtracker that start trivial arguments, we are all in the same sport here so lets not bash eachother, we got bigger targets, dirtbikers, j/k .

Lonestarbanshee: I do agree that by maintaining your quad, it will be a better bike.
However, you can maintain a polaris all you want and it is still going to break those tie rod ends left and right, have little electical problems... ect. Those things are not related to maintenence. They are related to build quality. A well maintained Polaris isnt even going to TOUCH the reliability and build quality of a well maintained Honda. ALL quads are not equal.
If you change the oil on a 2000 pontiac sunfire regularly, and change the oil on a 2000 Honda Accord regularly, is the sunfire going to last as long as the Accord? Nope.

hear the man for he is wise honda or yamaha are the only companie's out there as far as i see it maybe get a 400 forman they would be priced good and is an all around good quad i ownned one for two year's even tho it was strickly in the utilty class it handle's great it's the lightest quad in it's class and hardly anything stop's it and it can take some light jump's

If you maintain them Polaris's well they will be ok, ya so what if tie-rod ends or brakes wear out.....those are all peanuts to buy anyways(those parts are normal to wear out) its not like having to put a new engine in every time you ride. I dont like to diss quad makers, because they all made quads for us to ride and enjoy, and not to diss.
I am going to pick an ATV what I want.

Mr350X,
I guess I'm lucky.. I've never had either of those 2 problems. Now I will say that mine has gotten out of alignment once or twice, but the reason must be taken into consideration.(I ran(floated)into a tree at 30mph) As for the light problems, the only thing that's when wrong was when my friend ran the 300 into a Rancher and broke the light off.
I guess our idea of maintenece is different. I wash mine, grease mine, change the oil filter, and change the oil and transmission fluid every 300 miles. Also, I've ridden the 300 Xpress to hell and back and never had any problems with it. The only thing is, I loaned it out and the guy forgot to put oil in it, so the engine blew. I still stick by my original statment: If you maintain it, and take care of it, it will last.
