LoneStarBanshee: If youve had good luck with Polaris', Fair enough.
(ps. Our ideas of maintainence (sp?) are the same)
ATV_MAN: Although brake wear is normal, Ive been lead to believe that Polaris' goes through them too quickly.
Also, Breaking tie rod ends IS NOT NORMAL. Yes, granted, if youve had your quad for 5 hard years then it would be totally acceptable. BUT, again. The Polaris' quads go through them too quickly too be acceptable. Please dont stick up for Polaris when they are clearly failing to make a certain components quality up to par with the rest, by pawning it off as 'normal'.

Well, it's good to know I'm not the only one that likes the way grease looks under the fingernails. I haven't paid attention to the Polaris forum in a while, so I don't know about the "broken tie rod ends". Mine have stayed tight since 96, and 98.
I refer to Killer250R's post... Explain the Raptor's Transmission failure.. It's obviously not made up to par as far as quality high performance quads go these days

ATV_MAN... respectfully, your obviously missing the point.
If your pontiac blows its brand new motor randomly after 10K miles, they replace it under warranty.
Does that make it OK? HELL NO. Of course you could replace that motor with an 'aftermarket' motor. Does that make that pontiac acceptable? No it dosnt. Shouldnt have happened in the first place.
Same thing here. Of course you can replace those tie rod ends (or whatever else is 'defective')
with better quality aftermarket products. Your paying $4000, or 5000 or 6000 or 7000 for a new machine. You SHOULDNT have to replace a damn thing.
Why put yourself through (possibly) HAVING to replace parts on a new machine. All im simply saying is, look at ALL the machines before you give Polaris your money.
You might find a new Kawi that suits you perfectly. (Lakota? Sounds like what you might be looking for. Auto clutch, racks, and its sporty)

I couldn't agree more with Mr350x. Let me ask you guys something since that we are now making fun of the most worthless quads today on the market. I am talking about Polaris'. Have anyone of you guys ever seen someone grind a front spocket down to almost nothing in less then a year? A friend of mine had a 1999 Scrambler and he grinded his front sproket so bad, in such a short period of time it was ridiculous. I have never warn out a front sprocket on any one of my machines that I have owned. He had so many problems with that quad I don't have the time to go on and talk about it. Another friend of mine bought a 2000 Polaris Trailblazer. It wasn't three weeks after he bought it, he was riding it through a field and the entire backend of the quad swing-arm and all just came completely apart while he was riding it. The warenty covered it obviously, but that is poor construction for a quad. I encourage all ANTI-POLARIS quad owners to go into the Polaris forum and count how many topics there are for problems with Polaris owner machines. It is ridiculous!!!!
Before I go I would like to recite what Mr350x said:
"Please dont stick up for Polaris when they are clearly failing to make a certain components quality up to par with the rest, by pawning it off as 'normal'.

No Fourtracker 14 is right. All of the polaris's are JUNK. I told you all a long time ago that my Grandpa bought a 1997 Polaris Sportsman 500 and he did all the Maintenance and everything to it and it wouldn't start half the time and one day me and cousin were just driving down this smooth dirt road at about 20 MPH and the JOINT that hooks to the wheel that the driveshaft turn just broke in half. It is either the CV JOINT or UNIVERSAL JOINT. And it would be in gear and the neutral light would be on and we would be driving down this dirt road for like 5 minutes doing 40MPH and the OIL TEMPATURE light would come on. I tell you stay away from the Polaris CRAP. And (TWist) said you all have one common enemy (DIRTBIKERS) Well I don't ride Quads, I ride Dirtbikes, A 1991 Honda XR250R to be specific and what in the hell are wrong with us. You can't even take qauds on Singletrack trails. Just stay away from POLARIS. They are heavy, Underpowered, Get Horrible Gas Milage(Uncles did anyway). Matt

If you are under the age of 15, and you do not even own a quad, but everyone else on this post is bashing polaris, so you figured they were right.. and you joined in.. Please raise your hand! One, two... Three... Come on now!
Mr350X, I totally respect your opinion. I'm against Yamaha dirt-bikes, but hell everyone else's runs right! I've went through 3 engines in 2 months... But it's my fault.. Right?
Okay, another group activity.. How many people that have posted on this thread DO NOT OWN a Polaris?
Sorry guys, maybe I'm different, but I take care of my stuff. My SP500 has gotten in above the handlebars once or twice, but ALL fluids were changed, and I went over everything bare-handedly checking it over. So maybe you HAVE had stuff go wrong with Polaris.. I've always heard you can't argue with numbers.. But last time I checked... Polaris was #2 in sales!

Well maybe I was alittle harsh on Polaris' BUT for what I do they suck. Then again most 4X4 people think 250R's are $h!t so...oh well thats just where I stand I have seen Polaris' break and many parts fail on them, and thats why I think what I do.
BUT I have 1 question for quadqueen250r
"that's what iv been telling you people for year's polaris blow's"
Thats odd because it says you joined AUGUST 2001 how have you been telling us for years if you joined in AUGUST of this year >? UNLESS you changed your name.
