I want to buy a new set of tires for my 400EX but am not sure which ones to buy. I do alot of woods riding and hill climbing and drag racing every so often. I was looking at razrs, holeshots, or shredders. Which one of these would be the best to buy or is there another kind that would be better. Thanks for any help!!!

Go with the razrs, they dont wear very fast, slide well, are predictible, and hook up great. They are a very predictable tire.

I would go with razrs. A friend of mine has them in the front only not in the rear and he likes them a lot. I used to have XC Holeshots on my 300ex and I thought they sucked. They were only good in really tacky conditions on the motocross track. They sucked in the mud and in the sand. In very dry conditions they were hard to spin going into turns and so on. Razrs I think have a bigger bite and the treds on them are spaced out more then Holeshots. Shredders are the same way I think as the Razrs. I am still using my stock tires, but next summer I am getting a set of Razrs all the way around.

I just put a set of Razrs (21x7x10 on front, 20x11x10 on rear/mounted on douglas black labels) on my 400ex...hopefully I will get to test them out this weekend. They sure do look sweet ! I do mostly woods riding and some minor jumping. I'll let you know how they do.

Realters are better than all those on hardpack mud, hills, snow, and sand. The only thing is they are a bit heavier. They really didn't slow down my 400ex though and I could go anywhere.

Hey KoRn,

I rode for about 5 hours Saturday, mostly woods, the tires did great !
They slide great and they corner like the bike is on rails. I climbed hills easier than my buddy did on his 400ex with his factory tires, he said he is getting a set ASAP, too....

I got 6 ply 20-11-9 razor on my 400 and these tire are incredible in the mud, on the verry technical section like climbing rock, they are unbetable, they dont tend to slide sideway like other friend 400 ex tire.
The only complain is that these tire are heavy and i think that they have to much side bit, they would tend to 2 wheel more easily than other tire.
Other thing is that i found that they bounce alot when hitting a bump!

Next tire i will tried is Kenda BULLDOR or DESERT DOG!!!
