I am just about sure I will be getting a 400EX sooon so I want to know if there are any known problems with it from factory does it get real hot after long rides not being liquid cooled and all? Thanks for any info.

My buddy is torn between a Raptor and the 400ex. He can get the Raptor at dealer cost so the price should be about the same. I have been pushing the 400ex because I own one and can attest to its realiability. I notice you own both NOTUPAPTOR. I'm sure he would be interested in your comments as to the pros and cons of both.

I have riden a honda for 3 years, a 250X and 400EX. I normally ride on the dunes here in Oregon, and as far as heat I have never had a problem. We had one ride that was almost 4 hours (tank was on res going in) and never had a problem.. Honda is one of the best built quads out there (not taking anything from the others) so rest easy that you are getting one of the best ones out there.. You will thank me when 2 years from now your freind is working on his and you aren't if you know what I mean.

I actually was able to tear mine up in the sand a little bit. I spent several hours carving large bowls with the throttle WFO for extended periods. The combination of high revs and low air speed fried the valves. It would still run, but it had quite a tick to it. In spite of that, it's still a very durable machine.

I also am thinking of a Raptor so as mkenziek said could some of you guys that have both please share some pros and cons of both. I like the power of my zilla and know the Raptor will not be too far behind in the power department I was worried that I would not be comfortable,or feel as if I could go faster but couldnt, on a 400EX only being a 400cc and all used to the power my zilla puts out. Any input is very helpfull.
