Help with Honda 250!

Hey guys,need help,I ride 4x4 so I dont know a lot about sports quads,A friend of mine called me and he bought a 1991 250 for 500.00,he said Honda dealer told him it needed a cam and rocker,where can I find these parts?Are these parts hard to replace?and also is this quad a 2 stroke or 4 storke,I havent seen quad yet so I dont know much about it.thanks 4 your help.....

If it has a cam, valves rocker arm it is a fourstroke.

No the cam is not hard to replace, it just takes time. You must remove the cylinder head and the timing chain. Then the cam should come out of place. I never replaced the rocker arms, so I do not know how much work is involved in this. The cam should be about 200 bucks.

I think that the only 250 that Honda made in 91 was the 250x (which is very similar to 300ex). Check for parts on Ebay. I think there was a complete head on there last week.
