quit complaining all the time then if its so good. I'm glad I bought a perfectly fine 400EX and not a POS 250r that I would have to do so much work on.

Well I guess someones lazy in this forum! My R is the best bike i ever owned and is 100000 times better than my old slow 400ex! My R out handles, out powers, and just looks a hell of alot better than the 400! But yes 250r's require a little more upkeep, but It REALLY pays off we i go to the sand drags & MX track and slaughter those 440's! I hate it we people with 400's think there badass cuz they have a slightly more reliable quad! KILLER250R, never sell your R unless you really want to, and PLEASE dont listen to people like mt440ex (***). My R smoke a good bit when i start it up, but after that its fine, i would say Compression check, check tranny oil, and use a different permix like everyone else says! LONG LIVE THE KING (R)!!!

seems like mt400ex is just jealous that he doesn't own one of the best quads ever made.

Instead of enjoying his 400ex, he needs to sit on these forums and be a troll, just pissing people off.

grow up, and get a life please.

mt400ex i cant wait..4 strokes do break also. i cant wait to you have to change a timing chain,or do valve work. im sure you will be asking mom to take it to a shop because it's not a simple task. i will stick with the 250R it simple to fix and i havnt had to do alot of maintenance like everyone else says.
you have to remember the r has been around awile... wait to your EX is the same age and see whats falling apart like i said a million times,if you dont take care of them all quads will break! and if you dont have the money $$$$$$$ to spend on maintenance then a quad isnt for you. it takes a full time job and then some to replace dam parts on em. thats my 2 cents.

Backcountry is high, don't listen to him. First of all I would never run my engine at 50:1 I don't care what the Manufacturer said, second I tried every synthetic and Bell left all this black goop all over my engine. A local bike shop owner, and sponser of two quad team's and a bike motocross team sugested I try Klotz 20% Castor Technigold, it has been great. I have run this whole season on it and just inspected my piston/cylinder, they look like I just put it together, still has hone cross hatches on it.

DO NOT EVER RUN A QUAD AT 50:1, run Klotz at 32:1

Castor smells awsome too.

I ran golden specrto @ 50:1 when I first got it and it total ran like $h!t. IT burns really nasty and it's REALLY thick. I hate that stuff.

Backcountry is not high. (well, I won't speak for him, lol)

I run the Klotz supertechniplate when I run alcohol, and even at 20% bean oil, its a dirty oil. My combustion chamber ends up having a nice coating of carbon on it, where as with synthetic it does not.

50:1 is fine if the oil is made for it! Remember, the primary use for premix oil is to lubricate the crank and bearings, not the piston.
