Hey supermanfagit28 a stock honda 250ex puts out like 17 horsepower. My 250ex has a big gun exhaust and K&N airfilter and its puting out probably 20 horsepower.

lets think of it this way, you havent riden a 250Ex so how can you even say anything about it! yeah 10 hp when its like double that you dont even know crap about it! and the 400Ex's ground clerance suxz its only like 3.9 off the ground!

If i were you all i would just not quad bash and try to help the man (well or woman)out. If i had a 250EX i would say i would get the WB Eseries or the Yoshi exhaust. I like those the best on four strokes.

well i am planning on getting a 250ex sometime soon and when i do i plan on getting either a graydon, pro circuit T4, or supertrapp. by that time other people will have pipes out for the 250ex. the 250ex is awesome because it was made to be fun and carefree. the 400ex is designed for high performance. another thing is i can find brand new 250ex's for $2500. my dad works at honda so that knocks off 10% and he can get them factory direct to save money. now all i gotta do is get the money. guess i will have to snowblow my neighbors driveway. lol

well boys, i got an 00 400EX and an 01 250EX the 400 is great when i am on a track, to be honest with ya there aint another 400 in my county that can touch me, but nomatter where i go on the trails i take the 250EX because i dont have to worrie bout grabbing the cluth on everysharp turn or hill, and it is skinnier which meens i can get through tighter places. I plan on puttin a pipe and jet kit on my 250 when i got the chance and i'll tell ya what, my cousin has an '02 250EX and it has a filter on it and it will outrun a stock 300ex So i think thats doing pretty good.

1. automatic clutch that rules for tight trails, hillclimbs and learning to ride. - YES it rules if you are an entry level rider

2. Shaft driven - No chain to worry about, adjust, or keep clean.-cant change your gears so I'll stick with chain

3. Great for wheelies-Auto clutch sucks for wheelies

4. Great on gas-compared to what ?

5. Reverse-many quads have reverse

6. Reliable-MOST quads are reliable if properly manetained

7. $3800 OTD-you get what you pay for.

"This quad is one of honda's major screw ups." totaly not rue it's a good quad for BEGINERS are you a beginer >? Probably not thats why you don't like it.

"not only that the 400ex is terrible for trails!!!!!" How many 400ex's have you driven ?

"My 250ex has a big gun exhaust and K&N airfilter and its puting out probably 20 horsepower" sorry but your 250EX doesnt have no 17 horse!

"400Ex's ground clerance suxz its only like 3.9 off the ground" are you EVER going to shut up about that ?

"If i were you all i would just not quad bash and try to help the man (well or woman)out. If i had a 250EX i would say i would get the WB Eseries or the Yoshi exhaust. I like those the best on four strokes." FINALY someone who has a brain in there head.

"my cousin has an '02 250EX and it has a filter on it and it will outrun a stock 300ex So i think thats doing pretty good" MAybe the person on the 300ex geared it down or doesnt hold it open because thats just not true unless the 300 has something wring with it. PS does anyone really beleave these "MY COUSIN" "mY friends buddy" "my uncle" SURE BUDDY WHATEVER YOU SAY.

250EX good beginner machine but thats it.

2. Shaft driven - No chain to worry about, adjust, or keep clean.-cant change your gears so I'll stick with chain: I agree 110%. Shaft drives are good none the less but id rather have my oring chain ( no need to lube just have to adjust everynow and then) in my honda ive tore up rearends broken drive shafts killed u joints. and yet ive never broken a chain. Also if you break a chain on a trail. you can fix it. tear a rear end up or break a shaft and your done unless you carry spare rearends or shafts with you.

250exriderjamie:
The 400 is great in the trails.
The ground clearance under the chain and disk doesn't mean anything to a skilled rider.
Sure the 250 might beat the 400 in mud .. but the 400 also wasn't designed to go through crazy mudbogs that you those huge 4x4s with their 28inch tires going through.
The 250 motor came from a utility machine so did the frame.
