Will a 350x carb fit on my 300 and will it give it any extra oomph? Thanks for you help

 

I have a 350X engine on my 250X, I ordered my exhaust and the swap kit from powroll. They told me that the 250X carb worked better on the 350X engine than the 350X carb itself. I dont know about htis but I think I have heard it more than once. I would like to know if a 350X carb would give some more power on my setup also. I wish I had one to try.

 

I have an 87 trx250x with a 350x engine in it. it has a cobra head pipe , hand made 1.5 inch intermediate pipe , 4 inch supertrapp muffler with 18 discs and an open end cap. It has a wiseco 10.5 to 1 piston and a webb cam(not sure of the grind # without going to the toolbox).The air box lid is drilled and I run a K&N air filter with an outerware on it.14/38 gearing. I had a stock 350x carb with a 155 main jet, it had tons of bottom end but I thought it should have more top end. I put a stock 300ex carb on it with a 155 main jet, that took away a little bottom end but gave it a lot more top end. I put a 160 main jet in it and it ran even better on top end. the plug still looked a little lean so I went to a 162 main. Haven't tried it yet with this jet. I was also told by Powroll that the 250x/300ex carb was better even though it is a smaller carb and has a choke plate instead of an enrichment system, needless to say I was skeptical, but the 300ex carb is much better on my quad
