350X clutch replacement, PLEASE advise if experienced!!
#1
I recently noticed my X's clutch is starting to slip when its all warmed up.
Guess its time for replacement.
I have a haynes manual for a 200X, but obviously that dosnt help me much!!
If anyone with experience could help me out alittle, I would sure appriciate it!
Any advise? I am mechanically inclined, but have never changed a CLUTCH before.
1. Pull kickstarter off.
2. Pull whole side cover/case off. hmm.. ok, now I assume im going to be looking at the clutch basket... now what? Also, can I buy a clutch KIT for this bike? Or do I have to go in and order X amount of clutch plates? How does this work.
Please, any help is appreciated.
Thanks! -Matt

It's pretty staightfoward. Should be close to what your 200X manual says. Once you get the cover off, you will be looking at the clutch. Remove the 5 bolts holding the pressure plate on in a criss cross pattern. Loosen them in about 3 steps, not all at once. remove springs and pressure plate, then the friction and clutch plates. Soak the new plates in oil and install. Put the pressure plate back on and tighten in a crisscross pattern. You should be able to get a complete kit including new springs and all plates for around 70 to 80 bucks.
