I just got my 250r frame and a arms sandblasted and now i need to get them painted or powdercoated. I was wondering where i could get this done(relatively close to s. illinois if there is) and how much the powdercoating and shipping cost would you recommend both the frames and a arms or just regular paint the arms or just put regular paint on all of it also how long does it take for them to do this once they get it? thanx for any and all answers

From what I uderstand you can't power coat the arms without removing the balljoint because of the heat invovled in powercoating. You will mess up the dust boot and the teflon/plastic inside the ball joint when the powercoating is heated.

Corman,i had my frame,a-arms,steering stem, swing arm,and axle powder coated this spring and it looks great and holds up the best compared to anything else.I had to clean the grease out of the ball joints before getting them painted, but i wouldn,t do it again to the a-arms.I put grease zerts in the ball joints after being powder coated, but very hard to get the grease in the ball joints.I have always powder coated the frames on all my bikes and atv's and always will for the durability of it vs. regular paint.I have a place in Rockford,Il. do all of my powder coating for me and the prices are the best around here. The name is Metal Prep Services and the phone # is(815)874-7631 give them a call if you don't find anything closer and you don't mind shipping your stuff to him.later rpm
