I did not put it in the mud yet. The rancher does just what I want it to do. Use it for trail riding. It does not have to be the best 4wheeler or the best mudder just be a good sound product, with reliability. I know everyone want`s to know about the wheel pulls but I`am sure on this forum somebody will let you know. I like it. I have been on 300 fourtrax and also liked it and was going to get one until the Rancher came out. Had a trail boss before and did not like it at all. Sorry for the long post.

I tested a 4x4 Rancher today and something
unbelivable happened, the one that i test drove was a Green 4x4ES and i wanted Red and
when they loaded it on to my truck the dealer
and i both assumed it was a 4x4 and when i got it home it was a 2x4 but besides price
difference of $ 800 it is much sportier than
the 4x4 and turns alot sharper so i told the
dealer to mail me the difference because it
is more fun than the 4x4. WOW !!

The only place it says 4x4 is on the Front
plastic below the LCD readout and that part was facing the cab of my truck.I did give in
and take it back for a 4x4.

I did return the 2x4 and picked up the 4x4
because of snow and mud.The 4x4 turning
radius is only a little wider than the 2x4
anyways.I will say this much,i tried to get the 4x4 stuck on a large log off camber and
wanted to see if the front tires would both
dig even when one is off the ground and the
one tire that needed traction got it.Honda
now seems to have a true 4x4 system that is
really easy to steer.

Your experience does not say much about your dealer. I would be concerned with his after sale service when he can not deliver what you ordered. Was the new one preped ok? Be ware.

I've got a question??? From what I understand everyone is paying $5400-$5700 for their 4x4 rancher.. I paid $5800 out the door last year for my 99" ForemanES, and right now I know I know a place that I can buy a 00' model for less than that..(not buy much though) Why are the Ranchers so much $$ after all they are a smaller machine than the ForemanES's. Just a thought

ForemanES,

I don't know why they seem to be that much - other than they "just came out" or "the dealer only got a few"...

I called the main dealer in my area and he said "I got 150 of them (4x4 ES) and they are 4799".

I just about decided to trade, but am trying my dangdest (my own made up word ) to wait for the Rubicon.

Happy Trails
