My cousin borrowed my 400ex and he had a flat....... so when he put the rim back on (after bringing it to a shop to get a patch for it) he cross threaded a nut and the stud is focked.... so I went to honda and they said you cant buy just a stud you have to buy the whole freakin hub for 113$............

Any input guys...... riding on three studs is not a good alternative...

Honda just sells the hub with the studs already in place. They are replaceable though. I can't remember right now the exact size they interchange with but if your dealer stocks the studs for some of the earlier Honda's one of those is the same stud and will work. Another alternative is to just knock out the stud and replace it with a grade 8 or higher bolt and nut. Have an EXPERIENCED welder just tack the head of the bolt to the back of the hub so you don't have to stick a wrench back there everytime you remove a wheel. Just remember to TACK the bolt. You just don't wont it to turn when tightening, it isn't going to take much. That way if IT ever strips, just grind off the tack weld and do it all over. You may think this is rigging, but you would be surprised how many show up in the shop with it done. KNOWSALOT.

Get one for a 250R or 250X/300EX, they're all the same.

Yes, they are also only sold as a unit, not just a stud. Take your stud out and carry it to your dealer and match it with one from an older model Honda. I no longer work at the Honda dealer so I can't look the exact size up for you. I THINK that the stud you will end up needing is off an ATC200X,250SX,ES,R and the 350X. I just can't remember right now. All of the "spread" hubs that came on the R,X, and EX are sold as one piece from Honda. I don't know if it was a modular thing or just a way of making more money by selling a complete hub, because the hub has been used on many different models. Sorry if I'm wrong, so have your dealer pull one of these and compare it to yours. Hope it works for ya. KNOWSALOT.

why dont you just buy a wheel spacer kit that comes with new studs so that way you widen your quad and still get a new stud? thats what i would do.

just to any auto parts supplier with your stud. They will most likely have it. I think my banshee stud was similar to a Geo Metro stud...hehe...funny.
Your dealer is a bitch though. "you have the buy the whole hub". I would hate getting this sort of answer.

well it's not really my dealer....... It's the one I got to in Georgia....

They are kinda overpriced too.... Oil change with them(only oil+filter) is over 23$ US when I get the same at my Canadian dealer for 18$ Can......

What's the best place to buy OEM honda parts online ????????
