Can you help. I am heading out to purchase my first ATV . Will be buying a honda as I am
trading in an old MC. I am told the 450 should only be bought if i am using it for work
purposes, which I m not. They recommend the 350 but I am afraid of having it for awhile
and wishing I had more power etc. I will be using it for TOURING ETC.

SUGGESTIONS ? HELP?

If you are not going to work with it, the Honda 350 Rancher will be your best bet. It is the just enough, but not too much machine. But in case you did need to work with it has a nice and low 1st and 2nd gear. I have used mine to drag 75 foot trees already. It is also great on the trails and only weighs 535 lbs.

 

Well I drove one recently (RANCHER 4X4) And let me put it this way If I were to sell my R and get a 4X4 it would definatly be the 350, the 450 has more power but I like the rancher more, to me it seemed to handle real good for a 4X4 the rancher gets a thumbs up from me !

 

I have both a 450 and a 350. My wifes 350 Rancher will kick my 450 Foreman silly. You were told correct, the 450 4x4 Foreman is for work and serious trails. The Rancher is much easier to steer handle and rides much better. the Foreman rides like a dump truck!! however both bike are quality built and I'm sure you would like either. One problem I have with them is the drum brakes, Honda should have gone with disc.. Another thing
to consider is the Rancher will hold its value in the event you want to go with a bigger ride.
