Well, HyPer just sank my boat.. They do not currently offer an 8x8 wheel.. And if they do, I can't find it. Looks like JL will be getting my money..

I have had a set of Hyper-Techs all year too. They weigh about as much as a stock wheel and much less than the other bead locks. I have raced them in MX all year with no problems. I also raced them in a 2-hour endurance race that was harder on them than anything. My buddy broke the center of a stock 400 wheel right off in that race, and it was a new machine. They are expensive but I can say they work well. The only complaint I have is that they leak a little air. Because they are made of several pieces, they can leak from those joints and may need a little air from time to time. And they are definately the coolest looking wheel around. They draw a crowd at the track every race.

Give the guys at hiper a call or do some searching for previous posts here from them. They had some good reasons for not making an 8" wheel.

Regards,

Dennis

Dennis, do you happen to know a source to where I can find this information? And, unless they are planning on making an 8" wheel, I believe I'll go with the JL's. I really want carbon fiber, but I really want 8" wheels too. I don't guess you can always have the best of both worlds though.
