Ok so i have built my motor and it is fast as $%#@. But obviously with the added power i have lost some of my handling. I can just tell that i am not riding as well. I still need to adjust to the new powerband but that wont take long. I am wondering if anyone out there is using +2 a-arms and what suspension they are using. What brnd a-arms are you using and how have they held up. Did the +2 make a huge diference in your handling or was it hardly noticable. I ride mostly dunes and occasionaly compete on my local mx track. Would it be worht my 500-700 dollars to buy new a-arms and if so what is a good company to go with. I cant afford more then probably a grand into my front end so my options are some what limited. Any info or opinion will be appretiated. Thxs guys....

 

If your budget is limited I would suggest purchasing JD performance a-arms. They are made from 4130 chromoly and the welding is exceptional. They are a high quality product with a very reasonable price of $465. I had a set on my 250r and had no complaints. As for shocks go with Works triple rates with rezzies and your package will be just under $1000. The difference between stock and this set up is night and day. It will be well worth your investment.

 

I bought +2 Arens a-arms for my 250R and to my surprise, they don't come from Aren's with ball joints. I had to get ball joints from Nac's for $85(Arens doesn't sell them?). Make sure that whatever brand you buy comes with everything you need, tie rods, ball joints, and of course, a-arms. Arens sells good stuff, I'm not knocking them, just giving you a heads up.

 

I have a 440 kit in my 400 and I still have the stock a-arms and it handles good after I set the sag on the rear shock. Before I set the sag I could not keep the front end on the groud when riding. Everyone else said that I needed to get +1 swingarm before getting the a-arms to help the handling. I do have ZPS on the front and this quad is raced in the woods. If riding in the dunes you might need the + a-arms. I know what works in the wooods.

 

i did my suspension before my motor on my 400. the jd a arms are awesome and so is the lsr axle , it turns alot better now and is alot more predictable. i owe alot to my tcs shocks , the lowered ride height is awesome for mx racing plus it looks sweet too. i picked up the shocks from kandkatv.com and the a arms from jdperformanceatv.com if you spent the 450 on the a arms you could but some works shocks for the front , i would at least get dual rates if not tripple rates . if your in a pinch for money then dont get remote res. the tcs i have were 850 , they are absolutly awesome. i have jumped really big with them and they dont bottom. i love adjustablility and the ride height adjustment. you can take the springs off yourself and take out some little metal rings and it lets the sag spring ( top one ) sit all the way down or leave them in for a higher ride height. hope this helps you , casey
